Franklin Lakes, NJ (January 27, 1998) -- Becton Dickinson and Baxter Healthcare Corporation have announced a multi-year agreement to jointly market regional anesthesia trays. Together, they will offer a full range of spinal, epidural and combined spinal and epidural trays.

Under the terms of the seven-year agreement, Becton Dickinson will produce the trays' procedural components and Baxter will assemble all components and package the trays with a co-labeled lid. Becton Dickinson will continue to invest in research and development activities to enhance the safety, efficacy, convenience and cost-effectiveness of the anesthesia products.

According to Frank Guido, vice president and general manager of Becton Dickinson Anesthesia Systems, "This alliance enables us to leverage Becton Dickinson's and Baxter's traditional strengths in regional anesthesia componentry, product development, manufacturing and distribution. Consequently, our product quality, breadth and the service we offer health care institutions are enhanced. Both companies have extensive experience in providing reliable, high-quality products and services to the anesthesia market. The alliance just makes our offerings that much better."
