This letter contains important information concerning California's Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 commonly referred to as Proposition 65. This information should be forwarded to and reviewed by all appropriate persons in your organization.

As you may know, California's Proposition 65 requires that manufacturers and distributors of products used in California provide warning to individuals of the potential exposure to certain chemicals listed in the regulation. Accordingly, Becton Dickinson is notifying you that THE PRODUCTS LISTED ON THE ATTACHED PAGES CONTAIN CHEMICALS KNOWN TO THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA TO CAUSE CANCER, BIRTH DEFECTS OR OTHER REPRODUCTIVE HARM. While our products contain detectable amounts of listed chemicals, we can assure you our products meet all the Federal requirements under the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act for safety and effectiveness.

Please pass this information to others in your organization or support organizations who may use or handle our products or who may work in areas in which the products are held.
