Castellini Receives Award in Singapore

Singapore (November 13, 1998) -- On behalf of the company, Clateo Castellini accepted the Singapore National Day Award (Public Service Star) from President Ong Teng Cheong in Singapore recently. In addition to Castellini, two other recipients, Dr. Yoshiyuki Kaneda of Sony Corporation, and Lodewijk c. van Wachem, Royal Dutch Petroleum (Shell) have become the first international businessmen to receive this award. As top executives in multinational companies, they have been instrumental in the development of their companies' presence in Singapore, and each has contributed to Singapore as advisors. Chairman of the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) Philip Yeo said, "We are very pleased that these distinguished investors have been recognized for their contribution to Singapore's economic development. Singapore's success over the years is a result of many factors, including investors' confidence in Singapore as an investment location." "I am indeed honored to receive this prestigious award," said Castellini. "Becton Dickinson has had a very successful decade in Singapore and we look forward to many more glorious years here. I feel privileged to be associated with the EDB and thank the government for this recognition."
