The purchase of Kendall’s anesthesia product lines further broadens Becton Dickinson’s growing presence in the anesthesia market. Frank Guido, Vice President and General Manager of Becton Dickinson Surgical and Anesthesia Systems, says, “The addition of these respected products is an important step in BD’s ongoing commitment to improve regional anesthesia. Clients will now have easier access to a full range of high quality anesthesia products and improved service.” Mr. Guido also added, “Becton Dickinson will continue to invest in research and development activities to create new products that enhance the safety, efficacy, convenience and cost effectiveness of existing products offered by the company.” The new agreement gives Becton Dickinson ownership of both the Kendall and Sherwood Medical brand anesthesia products, including spinal and epidural trays and kits, paracervical/pudendal trays, nerve block trays, breathing circuits, airways, and facemasks. Becton Dickinson is working closely with Kendall Healthcare to insure a seamless transition. Becton Dickinson manufactures and sells a broad range of medical supplies, devices and diagnostic systems for use by healthcare professionals, medical research institutions and the general public. Now more than 100 years old, the international company has annual revenues of $3.1 billion and continues to evolve to meet changing patient and market needs. Anesthesia is one of BD’s core worldwide businesses.
