Gaida Joins BD Healthcare Consulting & Services


Industry Leader to Expand BD Supply and Resource Management Service Line

Franklin Lakes, NJ (July 05, 1999) -- BD Healthcare Consulting & Services (BDHCS) has named John B. Gaida, a healthcare professional and industry leader, to the newly-created position of Vice President and Practice Leader of the company’s Supply and Resource Management service line.

“John is highly respected in our industry for his business acumen and leadership. He brings hands-on, frontline experience -- gained working with some of the premier healthcare systems in the U.S. His understanding of the financial realities of today’s healthcare environment will be of great value to our customers,” said David C. Pulsifer, president of BDHCS. “We welcome him to BD, and look forward to working together to provide customers with leading edge Total Cost Management services that address the purchasing, logistics, distribution, and supply utilization needs of our customers.”

Gaida is considered a pioneer in integrating the diverse cultures of merged healthcare organizations while developing innovative strategic alliances between healthcare providers and their supplier partners that effectively managed and reduced total cost.

Most recently, Gaida was Senior Vice President, Support Services for Boston-based Brigham and Women’s Hospital where his responsibilities included overseeing all aspects of the supply chain, as well as managing environmental and facilities services. Concurrently he was Corporate Director, Materials Management, for Partners Healthcare System, Inc., an integrated healthcare system that owns Brigham and Women’s, Massachusetts General Hospital and a number of other Boston providers, representing a total of 3,000 beds, 25,000 employees and a primary care network of 1,000 physicians.

In his new role Gaida will work closely with Pulsifer and Tom Hughes, founder of Concepts In Healthcare, to continue the expansion of key Supply and Resource management initiatives that address changing market conditions and evolving customer needs.

BDHCS provides healthcare decision-makers with implementable strategic, operational, clinical, and information management solutions for high cost functional areas such as materials management, pharmacy, surgical services, and the clinical lab. BDHCS was established in 1998 with the acquisition of Concepts in Healthcare and has rapidly expanded by adding other highly skilled healthcare consultants.
