MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY MAKES DOCTOR VISITS SAFER AND EASIER

Mariette Hartley Hosts Special Report

April 06, 2000 - Boca Raton, Fl - Emmy-winning actress, Mariette Hartley, hosts another upcoming episode of the “Healthy Solutions” series, scheduled to air as paid programming on CNBC, Saturday, April 15th at Noon Eastern Time. Now in its fourth season, the half-hour television program explores the most important issues and topics related to America’s health and well being.

“The upcoming episode includes a special report entitled, The Latest Injection and Blood Collection Advancements, which examines medical innovations that are helping to make healthcare safer and easier to bear,” said Jim Wilhelm, Executive Producer of the series.

Most children in this country will receive up to 16 vaccinations and blood collections by their second birthday. While patients and parents alike fear the pain and anxiety of injections, healthcare workers have their own fears. Each year thousands of healthcare workers are accidentally stuck when giving injections or drawing blood. Thanks to new OSHA regulations and safety technology, the process of injections and blood collection is becoming safer and easier for everyone involved. In this report, we’ll examine medical advancements by BD that are designed to help protect both the healthcare worker and to reduce pain for your child.

“The BD Genie™ Lancet and the BD SafetyGlide™ Hypodermic Needle are medical technology breakthroughs that have made great strides in the level of pain and the level of safety for blood collection and injection procedures,” said Patty Elliott, Co-Executive Producer of the series.

In this report, we’ll examine medical advancements by BD that are designed to help protect both the healthcare worker and to reduce pain for your child. For more information, log-on to www.bd.com/safety.
