Franklin Lakes, NJ (April 09, 2002) -- BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) (NYSE:BDX) announces the launch of the BD Eclipse™ Injection Needle, further expanding the broadest and most complete array of safety-engineered medical devices in the industry.

The BD Eclipse™ Injection Needle is the company's newest safety-engineered product offering. It joins existing BD safety injection products, the BD SafetyGlide™ Needle and the BD Safety-Lok™ Syringe. Available immediately, the BD Eclipse™ Injection Needle is a needle-based, safety-engineered injection device featuring single-handed activation. It complements the BD Eclipse™ line of safety blood collection needles, and is competitively priced to offer outstanding value as well as effective protection against needle stick injuries. BD Eclipse™ also features BD needle technology, the sharpest on the market, for enhanced patient comfort.
