CEO and CFO submit certifications pursuant to SEC Order No. 4-460 and Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002

On August 12, 2002, the CEO and CFO of BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) submitted to the SEC sworn statements in accordance with SEC Order No. 4-460 regarding SEC filings.
On August 13, 2002, BD submitted to the SEC the certifications of its CEO and CFO relating to BD's Form 10-Q for the quarter ended June 30, 2002 pursuant to Section 906 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.
