The BD GeneOhm™ VanR Assay is a qualitative in vitro diagnostic test for the direct detection of vancomycin-resistance (vanA and vanB) genes directly from perianal or rectal swabs. With its speed and accuracy, the BD GeneOhm VanR Assay provides a powerful new identification tool to rapidly identify patients colonized with vancomycin-resistant organisms. Rapid identification helps facilitate early infection control interventions to prevent transmission and infection. This can lead to improved patient safety, reduced length of stay and reduced healthcare costs. Compared to culture methods requiring several days, this rapid turn-around timecan be used to enhance any infection control program.
