(April 5, 2011) – Further to BD’s press release dated March 15, BD’splant in Fukushima has now restarted some manufacturing lines, and repairs to other lines and areas of the facility are underway. The Fukushima distribution center and an additional distribution center near Tokyo are also operational.  BD sources certain component parts and finished products from third-party suppliers in Japan, and continues to believe that inventories of these items will be sufficient to meet global demand for BD products.

The Company continues to closely monitor the nuclear power plant situation.
