BD EpiCenter™ software is directly interfaced to the BD BACTEC™, BACTEC™ MGIT™ and BD Phoenix™ and the LIS. EpiCenter software delivers efficiency and consistency to lab managers in the production of rapid and expertised microbiology results. Version 5 of this intuitive software provides users with two unique optional modules to improve patient care in their institutions.
The BD EpiCARE™ module provides lab managers and infection control professionals the ability to construct reporting rules based on any result or patient demographic parameter. Using EpiCARE these managers can create rules for the reporting of sentinel events like nosocomial or specific organism detection thereby automating their quality assurance procedures.
EpiCenter can make real-time epidemiology a reality using the new Multi-User module, also optional available in Version 5. Infection control officers, physicians and pharmacists will appreciate the secure link to data and the ready-to-use epidemiology tools that they can use from the convenience of their own PC. Managers throughout the facility can use EpiCenter without the need to implement complicated software interfaces.
