Difco™ Antimicrobic Vial P, containing polymyxin B, is used for the preparation of selective microbiological culture media.
Difco Antimicrobic Vial P is used to supplement SFP Agar Base1 containing Egg Yolk Enrichment 50% and Difco Antimicrobic Vial K for the detection and enumeration of Clostridium perfringens in foods. Difco Antimicrobic Vial P is also used with Difco MYP Agar with Egg Yolk Enrichment 50% for enumerating Bacillus cereus in foods.2

Rehydrated Appearance: Colorless, clear solution.
Cultural Response:
Prepare the base layer and cover layer of Difco SFP Agar per label directions, inoculating the base layer. Incubate at 35 ± 2°C under anaerobic conditions for 18–48 h.
