BD CultureSwab™ MaxV and CultureSwab™ MaxV (+) Collection and Transport Systems
BD Collection and Transport Systems have been further enhanced to improve microorganism survival during transport. BD CultureSwab MaxV swabs contain a unique blend of non-animal proteins embedded into the swab fibers, providing additional nutrients for maintenance of microorganisms during transport. The new BD CultureSwab MaxV Collection and Transport System also features all the performance enhancing features of the BD CultureSwab line such as, nitrogen-flushed packaging, patented tube design, tamper-evident seal, double-action security cap, and a 5¼" long shaft. Independent studies have shown that BD CultureSwab MaxV allows proper patient diagnosis by improved recovery of fastidious organisms such as, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Haemophilus influenzae, Neisseria meningitidis and Streptococcus pneumoniae.^1-3 BD CultureSwab MaxV is available with Liquid Stuart or Liqud Amies media, in single or double swab formats, for the transport of aerobes. BD CultureSwab MaxV(+) is available in Amies Gel without Charcoal medium, in single and double swab formats, for the transport of aerobic and facultative anaerobic organisms.

BD CultureSwab™ and CultureSwab Plus Collection and Transport Systems
BD CultureSwab Collection and Transport System is designed for the collection and transport of aerobes. Available with Liquid Stuart or Liquid Amies media in over 15 swab and shaft configurations, BD CultureSwab swabs are designed to meet a wide range of transport needs. BD CultureSwab is also available with Cary-Blair medium for use in transporting fecal specimens. BD CultureSwab Plus Collection and Transport System features a 5 mL Amies agar gel column with oxygen-scavenging agents, for sampling of both aerobic and facultative anaerobic organisms. BD CultureSwab Plus system features all of the packaging and general product design features included in the BD CultureSwab system and is available with or without charcoal in the gel column. Unique performance enhancing features such as nitrogen flushed packaging, patented tube design, tamper-evident seal, double action security cap, 5¼" long shaft and non-toxic polyurethane foam media reservoir are just a few of the ways BD CultureSwab and CultureSwab Plus stands apart from competitors. Numerous published studies have shown that compared to its competition, BD CultureSwab swabs provide enhanced performance for microorganism recovery. ^1-3

BD CultureSwab™ EZ Collection and Transport System
BD CultureSwab EZ and CultureSwab EZ II collection and transport systems are simple to use and are media-free. The patented polyurethane foam swab used in this product has been shown in independent studies to be preferred by patients when sensitive skin or mucous membrane wounds were sampled.⁴ The medium-free nature of the system prevents specimen dilution that can be present with devices containing transport media. Published studies have shown that CultureSwab EZ swabs provide excellent recovery of clinically relevant aerobic bacteria for up to 48 hours after collection.<sup>4,5
