The BACTEC 460TB System provides early de­tec­tion of growth of mycobacteria from clinical speci­mens, and a standardized procedure for detec­tion, differentiation and susceptibility.

The BACTEC 460TB System radiometric tech­nology provides rapid and accurate testing of myco­bac­teria to obtain the results you need to know:

• Detection – in as little as 4-8 days.
• Differentiation – in as little as 3-6 days.
• Susceptibility – in as little as 4-12 days.

The BACTEC 460TB provides your laboratory with detection, differentiation and susceptibility testing to the five primary drugs used to treat tuberculosis: isoniazid, rifampin, streptomycin, ethambutol and PZA. The system can be used with either 12B medium supplemented with PANTA or 13A medium for whole blood. The medium is incubated off-line at 37°C and is tested on the instrument periodically during the 6-week incubation period.
