About the BD Education Center

Welcome to One Trusted Source for healthcare educational materials!

BD has long recognized the necessity for the ongoing education of healthcare providers and their patients. This is especially apparent in today’s environment, where technological advancements and government regulations continue to change the face of healthcare. Healthcare professionals require current information regarding products, techniques, and industry standards, and consumers increasingly search for information to help make educated decisions regarding their own healthcare or the care of other people in their lives.

History of the BD Education Center

As early as the 1970s, Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD), through its Vacutainer Systems business unit, founded and maintained a lending library of 16mm laboratory films for customers. This service became very popular and, in response to customers’ requests, BD steadily broadened its offerings.

In 1991, the Becton Dickinson Media Center was introduced. The Media Center published a retail catalog that continued to focus on the needs of Vacutainer Systems’ laboratory customers, but now also included choice titles from a number of related healthcare and laboratory trade associations, as well as titles created by Becton Dickinson.

Again, in response to customers’ requests, BD decided to further expand the healthcare education materials catalog to address the needs of clientele from other healthcare sectors, as well as increase the number of titles offered. With this initiative, in the year 2000, the Becton Dickinson Media Center became the BD Education Center.

Through our on-line catalog, the BD Education Center provides a valuable, centralized resource for a growing number of training aids and up-to-date educational materials addressing many human health topics in a variety of formats.

For more than 100 years, BD has provided the highest quality medical products to its customers. Now BD also provides one of the most comprehensive resources for healthcare educational materials in the industry.
