History of the BD Education Center
As early as the 1970's, Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD), through its Vacutainer Systems business area, founded and maintained a library of 16mm laboratory films for customers. This service became very popular and, in response to customer's needs, BD steadily broadened its offerings.

In 1991, the Becton Dickinson Media Center was introduced. The Media Center continued to focus on the needs of Vacutainer Systems' laboratory customers, including titles created by Becton Dickinson as well as adding select titles from a number of related healthcare and laboratory trade associations.

In response to customers' requests, BD decided to again expand this service by broadening its audience to include other BD business arenas, as well as expanding the selection of healthcare educational materials offered. With this initiative, in the year 2000, the Becton Dickinson Media Center became the BD Education Center.

Through our on-line catalog, the BD Education Center provides a valuable, centralized resource for a growing number of current educational materials addressing many human health topics in a variety of formats.
