BD in Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMA)

BD has a strong presence throughout the region with Technical Specialists, Sales Specialists, Technical Service and Application Support for its products. In addition, BD in EMA has a network of professional distributors who are highly regarded in the market and who provide added value to our products and services. Our Technical Specialists are available to answer scientific queries regarding BD products and services. Our fully trained Sales Specialists, with an understanding of the laboratory environment, offer a wide range of support and advice on our products. They also offer advice on issues such as healthcare worker and patient safety, product optimization and patient comfort.

BD in East Africa

Established in 2000, the BD office supporting the East Africa region is located in Nairobi, Kenya. Our highly competent team offers sales, marketing and technical support for BD products and equipment throughout Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Eritrea, Rwanda, Burundi and the Seychelles. BD provides training in good laboratory practices and safe injection practices to strengthen healthcare within the region.

BD in Russia and CIS

BD started its operations in the CIS region in 1994. The Representative office located in Moscow was established in 2002 and currently employs more than 50 associates. The BD office in Russia comprising of BD Medical - Medical Surgical Systems and Diabetes Care; BD Diagnostics - Preanalytical and Diagnostic systems, as well as BD Biosciences operates through a network of professional distributors and provides training and promotional support to customers. Being an active member of IMEDA (International Medical Device Manufacturers Association) BD in Russia participates in initiatives aimed at raising urgent medical technology industry issues to the forefront and shaping relevant legal framework.

BD in Saudi Arabia

The BD Technical Scientific Office in Riyadh was established in 1998 to provide product training, technical and scientific support to BD customers in Saudi Arabia. In response to demand in 2004, BD added to its operations in Saudi Arabia additional BD product portfolios and expanding BD market presence to the growing healthcare and research market segments in the region. Today, the BD office in Riyadh ensures that customers receive the highest quality of support and service. BD's dedicated and highly trained technical application specialists and technical service engineers provide training, education, scientific and technical service support to the different healthcare sectors and research institutions in Saudi Arabia. BD associates in Saudi Arabia are working closely in collaboration with the local BD network of distributors and their sales teams to provide the Saudi market with the best quality services possible.

BD in South Africa

The BD office in South Africa is located in Johannesburg. Established in 1995, this location employs more than 70 associates. BD has a strong presence throughout the Southern Africa Development Countries (SADC) region with offices, sales support, technical service and application training for all of its product range. In addition, BD in Southern Africa works with a network of high-quality professional distributors who provide added value to our products and services. Our Technical Specialists are available to answer scientific queries regarding BD products and services. BD in Turkey

BD established a trading entity in Turkey in 1992. The office in Istanbul is home to approximately 50 sales, marketing and technical support staff from the Company's three segments: BD Medical, BD Diagnostics and BD Biosciences whom are working very closely with local partners and distributors. The Turkish market is leading the adoption of many technologies in EMA for safety products used in blood collection, insulin pen needles, flow cytometry, automated TB diagnosis, solution offerings on patient and health care worker safety, and labware for in-vitro fertilization.

BD in Middle East & North Africa

Established in 1988, the regional office based in Dubai, UAE represents BD in the Gulf, Middle East and North Africa region, where products are largely marketed through local distributors. BD employs approximately 80 associates in Dubai handling the sales, marketing, and Technical Services for Preanalytical Systems, Biosciences, Diagnostics Systems, Medication and Procedural Solutions, Medication Management Solutions and Diabetes Care products. BD is a key member of MECOMED, the association for the medical devices industry in the Middle East, which follows similar guidelines to that of Eucomed in Europe and AdvaMed in the United States.

BD in West Africa

Located in Accra, Ghana, BD in West Africa supports Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal, Cote d'Ivoire, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Gambia, Mauritania, Cape Verde, Chad, Mali, Benin, Togo, Congo, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Burkina Faso, Sao Tome and Principe. Established in July 2008, the office provides sales and technical support, including application specialists and service engineers strategically located throughout the region. BD in West Africa operates in all three BD business segments; BD Medical and BD Diagnostics distributors support West and Central Africa while BD Biosciences covers Ghana, Nigeria and Democratic Republic of Congo. The Ghana Health Service, acting through its National AIDS/STI Control Program, in collaboration with BD in West Africa, successfully inaugurated the Ghana National Center of Excellence for laboratory training in March 2008 which, to date, has successfully trained over 100 laboratorians from the region.
