The BD SafetyGlide™ 6mm™ insulin syringe is a safety-engineered insulin syringe that helps protect healthcare professionals and other caregivers from accidental needlestick and other sharps injuries. It features a sliding safety arm that can be activated with one hand.

The BD SafetyGlide 6mm syringe is available in 1-mL, 1/2-mL and 3/10-mL sizes.*

Individual packaging

BD safety syringes are individually wrapped and packed in boxes of 100.

The sliding safety arm of the BD SafetyGlide 6mm syringe can be activated with just one hand.

Shortest BD insulin syringe needle

The 6-mm needle is our shortest insulin syringe needle, at 53% shorter than the 12.7-mm needle. This length complies with insulin delivery recommendations and proved to help meet patient preferences in a 2010 study.1,2

Reduced hypoglycemia risk

The 6-mm needle size helps reduce the risk of accidental intramuscular (IM) injections, which can cause hypoglycemia.3
