The BD GeneOhm™ Lysis Kit is designed for the rapid lysis of cells and spores from different sample types. This easy to use sample preparation protocol can be performed in less than 15 minutes. The speed of the process is complemented by the efficiency of the lysis. For species tested from a variety of sample types, the lysis efficiency was at least 98.8% and often greater than 99%. This efficiency translates into more genetic material for amplification or other types of procedures and ultimately more successful reactions in your lab. Species that have been tested include, but are not limited to, the following:

• C. albicans;
• Enterococcus species;
• Staphylococcus species;
• C. difficile;
• E. coli (both feces and suspension);
• Bacillus anthracis (both vegetative cells and spores);
• Mycobacterium species.
