  • Health Care Workers and Bloodborne Pathogens: Controlling Exposure
This activity for two contact hours is provided by BD Clinical Resource Services Department, which is accredited as a provider of continuing education in nursing by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
The home health care environment is fast-paced. Much of what clinicians do is second nature. But with the dangers of exposure to bloodborne pathogens, health care workers need to be aware of how they conduct certain procedures and adopt safety practices--including the use of shielded devices--as a means of protecting themselves.
  • Old Age is New
This activity for one contact hour is provided by BD Clinical Resource Services Department, which is accredited as a provider of continuing education in nursing by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.

The health care needs of the older patient are multiple and complex. Nurses often are not educated in the normal aging process and the older person's response to illness and health care interventions. Many of the clinical IV problems that the elderly face can be averted or alleviated with proper educational references and nursing interventions that are focused on improving and maintaining safe and effective intravenous therapy.

  • On the road to successful I.V. starts
This activity for four contact hours is available through Lippincott Williams & Wilkins.

Performing venipuncture and starting intravenous infusions are among the most challenging clinical skills you'll ever have to master. Expert clinicians share tips and insights based on 35 years’ experience performing and teaching venipuncture techniques.
