BD Insyte Autoguard Shielded IV Catheters
Designed to reduce needlestick injuries
BD Insyte Autoguard
shielded IV catheters made of
BD Vialon
biomaterial mean added safety for you. They're the safety-engineered version of
the popular BD Insyte IV catheter. BD Insyte Autoguard shielded IV catheters do not
contain elasticized PVC or natural rubber latex and can be used for Taxol administration.
The unique push-button shielding
mechanism releases the spring and allows the needle and flash chamber to quickly
retract into the safety barrel. The clinician maintains control of the process by
deciding when to active the push-button shielding mechanism.
The BD Autoguard technology is the only safety-engineered catheter proven to demonstrate effective needlestick reduction. Results of an
Autoguard Effectiveness Study conducted by Mt. Sinai Medical Center in New York, NY, a 1,000-bed teaching hospital, clinically proved the BD Insyte Autoguard to reduce needlestick injuries by 95%.
The 20-, 22- and 24-gauge catheters feature the added benefit of the
BD Instaflash needle technology, providing immediate visual confirmation of
vessel entry along the catheter shaft.
BD Insyte-N Autoguard Shielded IV Catheter

Neonates have special needs, particularly in IV therapy. Small veins, limited access sites and low venous pressure require your expert attention.
BD Insyte-N Autoguard shielded IV catheter includes all of the features of the BD Insyte Autoguard plus, at 0.56 inches it is the shortest safety-engineered IV catheter
available. BD Insyte-N Autoguard shielded IV catheter is made of BD Vialon biomaterial, clinically proven to be easier to insert, while demonstrating superior indwelling characteristics to enhance the outcome of neonatal IV therapy. The unique BD Instaflash needle technology provides immediate, visual confirmation of vessel entry along the catheter shaft.
