(SCW) Streptococcus Cell Wall - PGPS Arthritis Inflammation Models

PGPS 10S and PGPS 100P (SCW- Streptococcus Cell Wall) are purified peptidoglycan-polysaccharide polymers produced from Streptococcus pyogenes (group A). When used in animal models, they induce inflammation highly representative of that produced by natural causes. PGPS 10S applications include an intraperitoneal model for spontaneously occurring acute arthritis, and an intramural model for gastrointestinal studies. PGPS 100P applications include the intra-articular model for experimentally induced acute and chronic arthritis. PGPS concentrations are measured in milligrams of rhamnose per mL of material. Available from Lee Laboratories are several standard research adjuvants, intended for use in the preparation of antigen-adjuvant emulsions. Freund's adjuvants are a mixture of a purified light mineral oil and an emulsifying agent. Inactivated Mycobacterium is added to the Complete Freund's adjuvant. Lee Laboratories Freund's adjuvants are available either in bulk or in sealed 10 mL glass ampules. Bordetella pertussis cell suspensions are used as an adjuvant in certain research applications. The product is a suspension of Bordetella pertussis, inactivated.
