Kenya Launches Safe Blood Collection Effort with Help from BD and PEPFAR
BD and PEPFAR have partnered with the Kenya Ministry of Health to train clinicians to safely collect and handle blood in order to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS.

Direct Relief Prepares for the 2010 Hurricane Season
BD contributed medical supplies necessary for those with chronic health diseases such as diabetes, asthma and hypertension as part of Direct Relief’s program to prepare for the 2010 hurricane season in the U.S. Gulf States, Central America, Haiti and other Caribbean countries.

Update on the BD/PEPFAR Lab Strengthening Partnership
This ongoing initiative applies BD’s knowledge, expertise and resources to expand and improve healthcare systems, build local capacity and improve patient care. BD associates have volunteered to conduct lab strengthening activities in sub-Saharan Africa since 2008.

Gulf Oil Spill: Direct Relief and BD Helping to Save Marine Mammals
In response to the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, BD donated over 30,000 syringes to Direct Relief to feed and medicate the affected animals.

JDRF and BD Collaborate to Improve Insulin Pump Delivery
BD and JDRF announced a program aimed at improving the treatment of type 1 diabetes by developing insulin delivery products to enhance the use of insulin pumps. Through this program, JDRF agreed to support BD’s research and development of new products for insulin patients.
