In the late 1960s, BD launched the first ever commercial system for environmental generation, eliminating the need for vacuum pumps, gas tanks, nanometers and release valves. Over the next 40 plus years, BD has introduced a series of continually innovative and high performance products into this market. For the generation of anaerobic, microaerophilic or C0₂-enriched atmospheres in containers or jars, BD offers the BD GasPak™ EZ Container, BBL™ GasPak™ Plus, and BBL™ GasPak™ Systems. For the generation of anaerobic, microaerophilic or C0₂-enriched atmospheres in pouches BD offers the BD GasPak EZ Pouch, BBL GasPak Pouch and Bio-Bag™ Environmental Chamber Systems. Indicators may be placed in the container to indicate when anaerobiasis or C0₂ generation is complete.
