BD offers a broad line of reagent droppers, diagnostic kits, antigens and antisera, and strep grouping products are conveniently available. These items aid in the identification of Streptococci, Staphylococci, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Campylobacter, Salmonella, Shigella and a variety of other organisms. Reagents are available for the detection of febrile diseases, phenylketonuria (PKU) and syphilis.

The visualisation of bacteria by means of staining procedures is an important tool for the microbiologist as an aid in the identification and classification of isolates. BD Diagnostic Systems provides the microbiologist with carefully standardisd and reproducible stain reagents in order to ensure accurate and interpretable results. Stains are also available to provide rapid visualistion of mycobacteria and provide early detection of positive blood cultures by fluorescence procedures.
