Overview

The BD Alaris™ VP Plus Guardrails™ volumetric pump offers benefits in the delivery of infusions for fluids, medications, parental nutrition, blood and blood products through clinically accepted routes of administration; such as intravenous, subcutaneous or irrigation of fluid spaces. Clinicians can use an individual pump or dock pumps as a part of a system in Alaris™ Gateway Workstation.

The pump has enhanced pressure monitoring with in-line pressure sensor technology, capable of allowing the clinician to monitor patient specific in-line pressure changes with high precision.

The BD Alaris™ VP Plus Guardrails™ includes the Guardrails software which helps to prevent medication error.

The Guardrails™ Suite of Safety Software is a medication safety and quality auditing system designed specifically for infusions. It can positively effect patient outcomes by facilitating continuous improvements in the quality of practice.

Guardrails Safety Software

Medication safety software is becoming a pre-requisite for infusion devices. However, many hospitals find the implementation a challenge. The Alaris™ plus software is designed to make the transition to full Guardrails™ implementation easy and in line with your schedule. You can use the same Alaris™ Editor to create your drug library and care area profiles. When your Guardrails™ data set is ready, upgrading the pump to Guardrails™ is simple.
