- As each slide is scanned by the BD FocalPoint™ Slide Profiler, two algorithms rank each slide based on abnormality.
- Slides that are designated as Review are prioritized based on the risk for abnormality to aid the Cytotechnologist and the Pathologist in diagnosis and quality control.
- BD FocalPoint™ Slide Profiler uses proprietary imaging algorithms to detect both glandular and squamous abnormalities.
- BD FocalPoint™ Slide Profiler identifies at least 15% of all successfully processed slides for a Directed QC Technology™, satisfying CLIA 88 QC Re-screen guidelines.
- The QC review slides are subject to 3 screening events to reduce the potential of false-negatives: BD FocalPoint™ screen, Cytotechnologist screen, and QC re-screen.
