How the BD FocalPoint™ Slide Profiler Blends with the Laboratory’s Work Flow:
As each slide is scanned by the BD FocalPoint™ Slide Profiler, two expert algorithms rank its likelihood of abnormality. Slides that the system designates as “review” are ranked in order of probable abnormality to aid the cytotechnologist and cytopathologist in diagnosis and quality control. Those slides determined to have the lowest probability of abnormality are not ranked and are reported as requiring “no further review”. |
