BD SurePath™ liquid-based Pap test

Our collection and preservative vials for gynecological applications have been renamed BD SurePath™ liquid-based Pap test . This approach is designed to put the patient at ease and communicate our commitment to the accuracy of results to patient and healthcare providers alike. The BD SurePath™ test pack includes a vial with our preservative liquid, formerly known as BD CytoRich™ preservative , as well as all collection, storage and transportation components.
BD SurePath™ liquid-based Pap test is a FDA approved thin-layer cell preparation process intended for use in the screening and detection of cervical cancer, pre-cancerous lesions, atypical cells and all other cytologic categories as defined by The Bethesda System for Reporting Cervical/Vaginal Cytologic Diagnoses^*.
BD SurePath™ liquid-based Pap test
Optimized gynecological application-specific preservatives provide:
	Immediate and complete cell fixation which maintains cell morphology resulting in superior nuclear detail.
	Extended sample stability (4 weeks at room temperature, 15-30°C, and 6 months refrigerated, 2-10°C).
	Extended shelf life (36 months from date of manufacture).
	Immuno/Probe cytology compatible.
	Non-hazardous for transport purposes.
	Less than 24% Ethanol, a preferred fixative for cytology specimens.
	Color Coding for ease of identification.
BD CytoRich™ Non-Gyn Red Preservative*
	The cytological preservative for the next millennium.
	Excellent for fine needle aspirations.
	General non-gyn and endometrial cell preservation.
	Solubilizes protein and lyses red blood cells.
BD CytoRich™ Non-Gyn Blue Preservative*
	General Purpose Cell Preservative.
	Recommended for use as a general cytology preservative including urine. This is a non-hemolytic preservative.
