Capillary Sampling

Capillary Sampling

Regular blood glucose monitoring is important to keep track of your diabetes and stay in good health.  Without an accurate understanding of your blood glucose levels, you would not be able to manage your condition properly.  However you also know how annoying and painful finger pricking can sometimes be.

Pain from finger pricks depends on several factors.  A lancing system generally consists of a lancer and a lancet.  As such, the quality of the lancet will directly impact the performance of the system and the comfort of the procedure.

The BD Micro-Fine™+ Lancet is a single use, sterile, stainless steel blood sampling lancet that combined with the BD Optimus™ Lancer has been designed to bring a new level of comfort to the blood sampling procedure.  BD Micro-Fine™+ Lancets are compatible with many lancing devices.

As you know finger pricking can be painful therefore to reduce sampling pain and tissue trauma at the fingertips, BD recommend choosing the finest lancet available* the BD Micro-Fine™+ 33G Lancet.

BD Micro-Fine™+ Lancets are designed for single use and are available on prescription in two sizes.  The higher the gauge the thinner the lancet, the BD Micro-Fine™+ 33G Lancet is the finest lancet available*
