This article discussed the various types of urine samples that can be analyzed in the laboratory, and the proper ways to collect, handle and store the samples. Part II, "Preanalytical Variables in Urine Testing," will discuss factors that can affect urinalysis, culture and sensitivity and urine chemistry testing. Watch for it in the next issue of LabNotes.
