Hemolysis has often been a recurring problem in the
laboratory environment. Sometimes it can involve one
problematic patient or sample, which may make it easy
to identify the root cause. Other times, it can affect
many samples over a long period of time. These samples
can be from one drawing location, or they can be
hospital wide. It is this scenario that can be very difficult
to troubleshoot. For this reason, LabNotes is providing
you with a Hemolysis Troubleshooting wall chart.
We hope this will help you if your facility ever experiences
a hemolysis concern.
In this issue, we will also provide you with some
information on BD products that are being rationalized
this spring. Also, continue to check the bd.com/vacutainer
Web site for the upcoming BD Global Technical Services
Webinars.
Lastly, we invite you to visit bd.com/labnotes to complete
our new reader survey. As always, we appreciate your
feedback and suggestions for future issues.
