The BD Microtainer® MAP tube is designed to improve turnaround time, safety and accuracy of capillary blood collection and testing in patients with limited blood volume such as infants, children, oncology patients and the elderly.
Due to lack of compatibility with automated testing instruments, combined with a higher risk of patient identification errors, low volume capillary blood collection has historically had the risk of longer test result turnaround time as well as improper diagnosis and treatment.
The BD Microtainer® MAP tube is the first low volume collection system to offer both standard, full-size patient identification labels as well as offer instrument compatibility with most automated hematology instruments. Due to its patent-pending design, the BD Microtainer® MAP Microtube for Automated Process can run in automated mode with smaller blood volume.
