BD in South Africa

 

The BD office in South Africa is located in Johannesburg. Established in 1995, this location employs more than 73 associates. BD has a strong presence throughout the Southern Africa Development Countries (SADC) region with representation offices, sales support, technical service and application training for all of its product range. In addition, BD in Southern Africa works with a network of high-quality professional distributors who provide added value to our products and services.

Our Technical Specialists are available to answer scientific queries regarding BD products and services. Our fully trained Sales Specialists, with an understanding of the laboratory environment, offer a wide range of support and advice of BD products. They also can provide guidance on issues such as healthcare worker and patient safety, product optimization and patient comfort.

 

BD in East Africa:

Established in 2000, the BD office supporting the East Africa region is located in Nairobi, Kenya. Our highly competent team offers sales, marketing and technical support for BD products and equipment throughout Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Eritrea, Rwanda, Burundi and the Seychelles. BD provides training in good laboratory practices and safe injection practices to strengthen healthcare within the region.

BD in West Africa:

Located in Accra, Ghana, BD in West Africa supports Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal, Cote d'Ivoire, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Gambia, Mauritania, Cape Verde, Chad, Mali, Benin, Togo, Congo, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Burkina Faso, Sao Tome and Principe. Established in July 2008, the office provides sales and technical support, including application specialists and service engineers strategically located throughout the region. BD in West Africa operates in all three BD business segments; BD Medical and BD Diagnostics distributors support West and Central Africa while BD Biosciences covers Ghana, Nigeria and Democratic Republic of Congo.

The Ghana Health Service, acting through its National AIDS/STI Control Program, in collaboration with BD in West Africa, successfully inaugurated the Ghana National Center of Excellence for laboratory training in March 2008 which, to date, has successfully trained over 100 laboratorians from the region.
