BD announced today that it is planning to build a state-of-the-art prefillable syringe manufacturing facility in Tatabánya, Hungary. The plant would be built on the site of the Tatabánya-KörnyeIndustrial Park, one of Hungary's first and largest industrial park.

"We chose Hungary because of its proximity to the European markets these products will serve, as well as its pool of educated workers, the availability of qualified subcontractors, and an exceptional work ethic," said Alexandre Conroy, President, BD Medical - Pharmaceutical Systems.

BD expects that this approximately 100M € expansion will create approximately 500 jobs over the next 6 years. The market for prefillable syringes continues to grow, and the new facility would be built to meet this growing demand.Jobs at the plant will vary from highly trained operations personnel to administrative and maintenance jobs.
