Undergraduate Summer Intern Program
Introduction

The Technology Leadership Development Program’s (TLDP) vision is to develop future leaders in BD’s R&D organization by providing TLDP associates with broad and deep technical assignments across BD.

The program consists of three successively more challenging assignments that can span multiple businesses and/or locations within BD, strengthening the skills of these high-potential associates while developing their leadership skills across multiple disciplines.

A career path is sculpted for each TLDP candidate based on the individual's skills and interests. This allows greater flexibility and accelerated development within BD.

The TLDP job posting will be open from August 1st to October 9th, 2020. If you plan to graduate before October 2021, please consider applying during this hiring cycle! Candidates will hear back about next steps within 3 weeks of the application closing date.

The spring application window will be open from October 10th to the end of February 2021. If you plan to graduate before February 2022, please consider applying during the spring cycle.

We offer undergraduate internship opportunities in the following areas:

Program Overview

The EDGE Summer Intern Program

The EDGE Summer Intern Program is designed to attract highly talented undergraduate students who want to acquire practical work experience relevant to IT. By working on key projects and processes, while adding value to BD as an intern, they can expect projects that are both challenging and rewarding. They work under the management of a BD associate who serves as a coach to aid and assist in their transition into the corporate environment. As part of the broader BD summer intern programs, EDGE interns can participate in various networking events, career development sessions and team-building activities. Summer interns who demonstrate solid performance and exhibit promising potential at BD are considered as candidates for our entry-level EDGE Program, upon the successful completion of their bachelor's degree.

The FLDP Summer Analyst Program

The FLDP Summer Analyst Program is designed to attract highly talented undergraduate students who want to acquire practical work experience relevant to a career in Finance. As a Summer Analyst, you can expect to add real value to key projects through challenging and rewarding work. You will work directly with a manager in your day-to-day role, and be assigned mentors to aid and assist you in your transition into the corporate environment. As part of the broader BD Intern Program, FLDP Summer Analysts will participate in various networking, career development, and team-building activities. Summer Analysts who demonstrate strong performance and exhibit promising potential at BD will be considered as strong candidates for BD’s full-time Finance Leadership Development Program (FLDP) upon successful completion of their Bachelor’s degree.

The Procurement Summer Intern Program

The Procurement Summer Intern Program gives interns/co-ops the opportunity to enhance their proficiency in procurement processes and gain exposure to the specific challenges of working in a medical device manufacturing company. They report to and work directly with the strategic sourcing managers and/or process associates responsible for the intern/co-op's assignments one-on-one or as a member of a cross-functional team. Assignments vary depending on business needs, but they generally include discrete projects related to spend analysis, project management, corporate and category support, request for information (RFI) activities and supplier management activities. Interns/Co-ops who demonstrate solid performance and exhibit promising potential at BD are considered as candidates for our entry-level Procurement Development Program (PDP), upon the successful completion of their bachelor's degree.

The Supply Chain Summer Intern Program

The Supply Chain Summer Intern Program is designed to give interns/co-ops the chance to link their education with practical supply chain experience. They work on meaningful projects aligned with our strategies focused on efficiency and savings. They work with the Global Supply Chain Management, Global Trade Compliance and Global Transportation teams to identify opportunities to improve overall supply chain efficiency and cost effectiveness. Interns/Co-ops who demonstrate solid performance and exhibit promising potential at BD are considered as candidates for our entry-level Supply Chain Development Program (SCDP), upon the successful completion of their bachelor's degree.
