Features and Benefits
Bold scale markings
Bold scale markings in five-unit increments let you easily draw insulin to the prescribed dose, allowing up to 250 units.
Reduced number of dosing steps
The syringe is designed to reduce the number of dosing steps required to manually convert doses using a U-100 insulin syringe or a tuberculin (volumetric) syringe, helping to reduce dosing errors.
Shortest syringe needle by BD
The 6-mm x 31-G needle is the shortest insulin syringe needle length currently available from BD.
Consistency of care
To ensure consistency of care, the price of the BD U-500 insulin syringe aligns with that of the BD U-100 insulin syringe with 6-mm needle length.
Insurance coverage
BD Medical – Diabetes Care has partnered with managed care organizations to ensure that the BD U-500 insulin syringe is covered by most healthcare plans, including Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage (Part D), at the preferred copay, mirroring the coverage of our other BD Ultra-Fine insulin syringes.†
Packaging consistency
The insulin syringe package and components are aligned with the new Humulin R U-500 insulin green and gray packaging color scheme; the syringe plunger is gray, the syringe shield is green and "U-500" is printed on the syringe collar in green.
Pharmacy availability
The insulin syringe―NDC 08290-3267-30―is easy to find at the pharmacy.
