BD BACTEC™ MGIT™ automated mycobacterial detection system
The BD BACTEC™ MGIT™ automated mycobacterial detection system is a fully automated solution for mycobacterial liquid culture and susceptibility testing.
The BD BACTEC MGIT 960 system is for high-volume mycobacteria growth, detection and susceptibility testing and is designed to meet the needs of medium- and high-volume laboratories.
Safe and efficient onboard incubation eliminates sharps, and the need to handle or transfer tubes once the system is loaded, reducing labor requirements while adding a layer of operator safety.
The BD BACTEC MGIT 320 system is designed to help smaller-capacity laboratories quickly and accurately detect TB.
The optional BD EpiCenter™ data management system performs statistical analyses and accommodates different customer preferences. It also provides simple specimen tracking along with a flexible and dynamic reporting system for more in-depth data management needs.
Simplicity and performance
The system was designed with simplicity in mind, helping maximize productivity with minimal staffing and training.
The system automatically directs tube placement and indicates positives with both a visual and an audible signal as they occur.
The system uses BD BBL™ MGIT media and patented sensors, which efficiently leverage advanced fluorometric technology to facilitate highly accurate detection of O2 consumption without sharps.
The system continuously performs automated quality control to ensure precise and reliable operation, and provides results as positive/negative and numerical growth units.
Ease of use
The system lets you simply scan and load the plastic sample tubes, and then walk away.
The system identifies positives as they occur, speeding results to improve patient care, reduce hospital stays and optimize equipment and staff utilization.
Barcode scanning guides the following simple four-step operating procedure, eliminating potential errors:
Select the workflow.
Load where indicated by the green LED.
Scan the tube at the instrument.
Remove positives and completed negatives as they occur.
