The World Health Organization’s creation of an annual World Patient Safety Day - September 17 th is key to helping raise awareness and focus minds on improving the safe delivery of healthcare. BD fully supports this initiative and is partnering with care providers to ensure patient safety is prioritised, and efforts to reduce avoidable harm are enabled.
BD associates have received communications in the lead up to World Patient Safety Day, reinforcing the importance of patient safety and how they can make an impact as each associate seeks to advance the world of health. Now the day has arrived, BD associates across multiples sites in the UK will be attending events to show their commitment to making healthcare safer for all.
Patient Safety: It’s who we are
Patient Safety is at the heart of our portfolio of products and services, which was recognised by Frost and Sullivan who awarded BD the 2017 Global Patient Safety Visionary Innovation Leadership Award. Since receiving this award, we have continued to dedicate our work towards improving the safe, efficient and sustainable delivery of healthcare, from the hospital to the patient’s home. Recently, BD was the key strategic partner at the HSJ Patient Safety Congress, delivering two main programme sessions on medication errors and optimising patient safety through behavioural modification.
The evolving patient safety environment
As all stakeholders continue to recognise the importance of patient safety and work together to create safer healthcare for all in the future, it is important to keep track of the consistently evolving patient safety environment. Patient Safety is integral to everything we do at BD and we believe it should be at the forefront of everyone’s minds when thinking about healthcare, so we have collated some useful resources for you below to connect you to the latest information:
