BD ANZ Achieves ISO/IEC 27001 Certification

BD ANZ (Australia and New Zealand) today announced it has successfully achieved certification to rigorous international standards for information security, further demonstrating the company’s global commitment to protecting its systems, customers and patients from cybersecurity risks.

ISO/IEC 27001 is a globally recognized set of information security standards established by the International Standards Organization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). Certification provides assurance that an organization’s Information Security Management System (ISMS) conforms with specific requirements for managing information security, including protected health information and personally identifiable information.

ISO/IEC 27001 standards also include requirements for assessing and addressing information security risks. During the two-stage external audit process, auditors verified that BD ANZ aligns to the company’s enterprise-level Information Security policies, Statement of Applicability (SoA) and Risk Treatment Plan (RTP), for which BD earned ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification in 2022.

“BD ANZ collaborates with our customers to understand their security needs,” said Anelo Cournut, vice president and general manager, BD ANZ. “ISO/IEC 27001 certification provides fundamental assurance that BD ANZ meets rigorous international standards for managing security. This distinction demonstrates our ongoing commitment to effective information security management.”
