About Denise

Denise Fleming serves as chief information officer and executive vice president of technology and global services for BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company), a leading global medical technology company headquartered in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey. Fleming is responsible for leading all aspects of BD’s IT systems and processes, the enterprise program management office and global shared service centers. She is also a member of the BD Executive Leadership Team.

Fleming joined BD from Boeing, where she was the vice president of IT and CIO of Boeing Defense, Space & Security, responsible for driving innovative digital solutions, cybersecurity compliance and managing the value delivery of IT systems for 30,000 Boeing associates. Prior to Boeing, Fleming held several positions at Sprint before joining BAE Systems, Inc. as VP, Business Technology & Application Solutions. She has more than 25 years of experience in IT, business transformation and technology solutions.

Fleming earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Virginia; a Master of Business Administration degree from Duke University, Fuqua School of Business; and received an Advanced General Manager’s Program certificate from Insead Business School in France.

She is also a co-founder and board member of TechPACT, a non-profit focused on increasing diversity in STEM. She is also a member of the Executive Leadership Council where she serves on the IT Advisory Committee, and a member of the Technical Advisory Board for Greycroft Venture Capital Firm. As an executive member of the IT Senior Management Forum, she mentors high potential talent selected for development programs offered by the organization. Fleming received the Career Achievement Award at the 2022 Black Engineer of the Year Award Conference and was also recognized by Diversity Woman Magazine as one of the Elite 100 in the Class of 2022. She has been featured in various publications including Forbes and US Black Engineer & IT Magazine.
