BD Preset Eclipse Arterial Blood Collection Syringes

BD Preset™ Arterial Blood Collection Syringes Automatic Fill

BD Critical Care Collection Syringes are available with the BD Eclipse safety-engineered needle to minimise the chances of a needlestick injury to the the healthcare worker. The safety shield is integrated and is not an accessory to the needle. The needle bevel and safety shield are in alignment, ensuring no extra manipulation. The single-handed technique ensures no change in the collection technique and the double-locking mechanism is both visually and audibly confirmed for the healthcare worker.

Handling and compatibility

Good critical care test results depend on the quality and integrity of blood gas samples; quality samples depend on blood gas syringes designed to minimise preanalytical variables.1

The BD Arterial Blood Collection Syringes are spray-coated with calcium-balanced Lithium heparin enabling easy dissolution to minimise clotting and dilution errors without compromising analyte measurements;

  • anticoagulates the sample after mixing2
  • meets the IFCC guidelines for heparin concentration in blood for dry heparin plastic syringes3

BD Preset Eclipse Arterial Blood Collection Syringe has been validated, and demonstrated stability for the following critical care analytes2:

  • Blood gases: pH, pCO2, pO2
  • Electrolytes: ionised calcium (iCa), sodium (Na), potassium (K), chloride (Cl)
  • Metabolites: glucose (GLU) and lactate (LACT)
  • Hemoglobin (Hb) and hematocrit (Hct)
  • Blood urea nitrogen (BUN) and creatinine (CREA)

BD Preset Eclipse is designed to preserve sample integrity, while protecting healthcare workers from needle stick injuries.

Reduce needlestick injuries with thumb pad for single step safety activation and audible lock confirmation.
