For more than 111 years, BD has applied its technologies, resources, and institutional knowledge to help address fundamental health issues.  Today, to help fulfill its corporate purpose of “Helping all people live healthy lives,” BD has launched a Global Health Initiative. The goal of BD’s Global Health Initiative is to help strengthen healthcare systems and increase access to healthcare in the developing world. The Global Health Initiative strengthens healthcare systems by leveraging BD resources in four strategic and complementary ways:

• Providing technical assistance through training and tools that strengthen laboratory systems
• Increasing access to critical technology on a sustainable and affordable basis
• Investing in new technologies
• Collaborating with public and private organizations
