BD and Bach Mai Hospital sign MOU to Advance Treatment for Cardiac and Neurological Emergencies

Cardiac arrest and neurological injuries, including stroke and traumatic brain injury (TBI), are critical medical emergencies requiring immediate intervention to prevent severe outcomes or fatalities. These conditions often lead to long-term disabilities, necessitating extensive medical care, rehabilitation, and support services, thus significantly burdening healthcare systems.

The MOU between Bach Mai Hospital and BD demonstrates a commitment to improving health outcomes and the lives of affected individuals, facilitating strategic initiatives that leverage advanced technologies and best practices to enhance education and awareness of therapies that can significantly improve the lives of patients.

The signing ceremony was attended by delegates from Bach Mai Hospital and representatives from BD Vietnam and Southeast Asia.

The MOU will focus on these key areas:

1. Improving clinical education: Initiatives will raise awareness and enhance knowledge among doctors and nurses about Targeted Temperature Management (TTM) in the care of critically ill patients with cardiac arrest and neurological injuries.
2. Standardizing treatment: A nationwide TTM protocol will be developed to ensure therapy compliance and reduce variability in care.
3. Expanding patient access: Clinical data will be collected to support reimbursement coverage and improve patient access to TTM for those with cardiac arrest or neurological injuries.
