Jakarta, Indonesia – 16 Desember 2025 – BD Indonesia launched the BD Nexiva™ Closed IV Catheter System on 16 December 2025 in Jakarta through the Vascular Access Management National Webinar, a hybrid event that convened around 1,100 healthcare professionals onsite, via satellite, and online. The session aimed to advance discussions on vascular access management and standardized IV therapy practices nationwide..

BD Nexiva™ Closed IV Catheter System was introduced as an integrated, closed‑system peripheral IV catheter designed to support longer dwell times, help reduce potential complications such as phlebitis, infiltration, and infection, and potentially improve first‑attempt insertion success. Its closed design is also intended to help lower the risk of needlestick injuries and minimize blood exposure, supporting safer working environments for clinicians.

To enhance clinical relevance, BD partnered with PPNI (Indonesian National Nurses Association) and invited Southeast Asia experts to share evidence‑based insights. Speakers included Jessi Rahardja, Quality and Nursing General Manager Siloam Hospitals Group on IV therapy transformation through safety and innovation; Ns. Siti Indriani, S.Kep., M.Kep. Infection Control Manager EMC Healthcare Group, on Aseptic Non-Touch Technique (ANTT) and closed‑system practices; Apt. Yovita Diane Titiesari, M.Sc. Head of Pharmacy Services Siloam MRCCC Hospital on selecting the right IV devices; and Mark Asuncion Associate Director for Clinical Advancement and Informatics St. Luke’s Medical Center, Philippines on evidence‑based use of integrated short peripheral catheters.

Designed as a targeted educational platform, the webinar enabled BD to engage clinicians and decision‑makers directly while raising awareness of safe, standardized IV therapy practices. Participants across all formats received access to product samples, materials, and request links for demonstrations, trials, and quotations, allowing healthcare professionals nationwide to further explore BD Nexiva™ Closed IV Catheter System within their clinical settings.
