Overview

The BD NeutraClear™ has a reverse split septum, which provides a closed system and microbiological barrier to help reduce contamination. Due to its low weight, low priming volume and compact size, it is suitable for neonate and pediatric use, ensuring comfort for the baby and easy handling for healthcare workers.

Features and Benefits

Sealing ring

The sealing ring puts pressure on the split septum seal so it can form a physical microbial barrier.

Small size

The size, with low weight and low priming volume, makes this connector suitable for infants and children.

Orange colour

The orange colour acts as a visual indicator to reduce accidental removals.

Neutral displacement

Neutral displacement on disconnection may minimise catheter reflux leading to a lower number of restarts.

Reverse split septum

When needleless systems are used, a split septum may be preferred.¹ The split septum provides a closed system and microbiological barrier to help reduce contamination.

Smooth septum surface

A smooth swabbable septum surface with no gap provides a physical microbial barrier.²

Straight fluid path

The straight fluid path is designed to help promote flushing efficiency and reduce the potential for bacterial growth.³

Guiding seal ring

Can help maintain the integrity of the silicone sleeves at the access point and promote better sealing of the split septum after multiple activations.

Compact, lightweight design

Due to its low weight, low priming volume and compact size, it is suitable for neonate and pediatric use, ensuring comfort for the baby and easy handling for healthcare workers.
