Swan-Ganz™ Catheter allows continuous monitoring of the balance of oxygen delivery and consumption with these advanced hemodynamic parameters:

Continuous cardiac output (CCO)Mixed venous oxygen saturation (SvO2)

Swan-Ganz™ Advanced Technology Catheters offer CCO, which continuously monitors cardiac output with the ability to: 

  • Access continuous calculation and display of cardiac output on CCO thermodilution catheters. 
  • Use thermal energy to calculate cardiac output using thermodilution principles on HemoShere™ and HemoSphere Alta™ Monitor.
Swan-Ganz™ Oximetry Catheters allow for the continuous monitoring of SvO2, which updates every 2 seconds to assess the balance between oxygen delivery and consumption. Since SvO2 is a sensitive indicator of patient status and generally precedes other indications of cardiopulmonary instability, continuous SvO2 monitoring may allow diagnostic and therapeutic decisions to be made earlier in the patient's clinical course.
Standard Catheters

Thermodilution pulmonary artery catheters

Swan-Ganz™ Thermodilution Catheters monitor intracardiac pressures and cardiac output, along with providing infusing solutions.

When used with a compatible monitor, Swan-Ganz™ Thermodilution Catheters enable you to:

  • Assess hemodynamic condition through direct intracardiac and pulmonary artery pressure monitoring and cardiac output determination.
  • Sample mixed venous blood through the distal (pulmonary artery) port for the assessment of oxygen transport balance and the calculation of derived parameters such as oxygen consumption, oxygen utilization coefficient, and intrapulmonary shunt fraction.
  • Infuse using an extra lumen with proximal port (30 cm) on Swan-Ganz™ VIP Catheters, in addition to the standard distal and injectate lumens, to provide direct access to the right atrium.

Flow-directed monitoring catheters

The following parameters are available through the flow-directed monitoring catheters†: Pulmonary Artery Pressure (PAP), Pulmonary Artery Occlusion Pressure (PAOP)*.

The Flow-Directed Monitoring Catheters monitor right heart pressures and enable mixed venous blood sampling as well as infusing solutions.

Bipolar Pacing Catheters are designed for temporary right ventricular endocardial pacing.‡;

  • Thermodilution Paceport™ Catheter offers temporary transvenous right ventricular pacing‡ when used with the appropriate Edwards Chandler Transluminal V pacing probes
  • Thermodilution A-V Paceport™ Catheter is indicated for temporary transvenous right ventricular, atrial, or A-V sequential pacing‡ when used with the appropriate Edwards Chandler Transluminal A and/or V pacing probes
  • Swan-Ganz Oximetry Paceport™ TD Catheters offer bolus cardiac output and SvO2 monitoring when used with a compatible monitor in addition to temporary transvenous pacing when used with the appropriate BD Chandler Transluminal V pacing probe

The A-V Paceport™ or Pacing-TD catheters offer atrial, ventricular, or A-V sequential temporary transvenous pacing in the right heart.§
 

  • Three atrial and two ventricular electrodes for atrial and ventricular pacing and atrioventricular (A-V) sequential pacing are integrated into the pulmonary artery catheter for temporary transvenous pacing‡
  • Pacing-TD™ Catheter can measure right heart pressures, blood sampling, solution infusion, and cardiac output measurements by thermodilution when used with a compatible monitoring platform

<p>CO-Set+™ Close Injectate Delivery System</p>

CO-Set+™ Close Injectate Delivery System

CO-Set+™ Closed Injectate Delivery System works effectively with room temperature or cold injectate for the measurement of bolus thermodilution cardiac output when used with a compatible monitoring platform and Swan-Ganz™ Catheter.
 

  • In-line temperature probe is directly in the injectate fluid path.
  • Volume-limited syringe (10 cc) aids in obtaining reproducible cardiac output by simplifying filling and eliminating the variability from differences in filling techniques.
  • The syringe plunger and the finger grips on the syringe jacket have been designed to help accommodate a wide range of user hand sizes for efficient and comfortable injection of fluid.
