Some power injectable PICCs are open ended like PowerPICC™ Catheters.3 They can be closed with a clamp.4 PowerPICC SOLO™ Catheters don’t have clamps but contain a proximal valve in the hub.1 Positive pressure opens the valve, allowing for infusion.1 Negative pressure opens the valve in the opposite direction, allowing for blood collection.1 The valve closes when pressure is low.5 Low pressure helps prevent backflow and occlusion.5

The PowerPICC™ SOLO family of products can be paired with Sherlock 3CG+™ Tip Confirmation for bedside placement and real-time tip confirmation.
Unlike regular PICCs, power injectable PICCs can deliver very high-rate injections (up to 5 mL/sec).2 They are recommended for high-velocity infusion of contrast media during computed-tomography (CT) scans, monitoring central venous pressure, high-volume fluid infusion and multiple IV lines.2

The power injectable PowerPICC SOLO™ Catheter
The PowerPICC SOLO™ Catheter with proximal valve technology provides clamp free short and long-term infusion with a maximum injection rate of 300 psi at 5 mL/sec. It is trimmable and comes in single, dual and triple PICC lumen configurations with the option of Sherlock 3CG+™ Tip Confirmation System tracking and navigation for optimal catheter placement.
