BD BBL™ Gram QC slides
These slides help evaluate and control the quality of Gram stain reagents and techniques. They are conventional 1-in x 3-in microscope slides imprinted with 10 squares. One square contains the Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. The remaining nine squares are available for staining test isolates.
BD BBL™ AFB QC slides
These slides help evaluate and control the quality of acid-fast and fluorescent stain reagents and staining techniques for the detection of acid-fast bacilli (AFB). They are conventional 1-in x 3-in microscope slides imprinted with two circles; the first is an acid-fast positive control with Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus subtilis plus inactivated Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Ra, and the second is a negative control with an unstained mixture of non–acid-fast cocci (Staphylococcus aureus) and bacilli (Bacillus subtilis).
