Overview

The BD Vacutainer® Culture & Sensitivity (C&S) Tubes are designed for culture and sensitivity testing of bacteria present in the urinary tract. Metabolic changes of urine analytes and overgrowth of bacteria may be prevented by addition of stabilisers.2

With BD Vacutainer® C&S Tubes, urine specimens for culture and sensitivity testing can be preserved for up to 48 hours* without refrigeration; reducing "false positives" and stabilising specimens to better reflect patient specimens at the time of collection.3

Our lyophilized preservative (boric acid, sodium formate, sodium borate and mannitol) maintains the specimen integrity for up to 48 hours at room temperature*.

Ease of use

The evacuated system with a minimum fill line (of 3 mL) enhances a proper additive-to-urine ratio if filled correctly.

Closed system

The tube can help prevent specimen contact and leakage during transportation and helps keep your pneumatic systems dry.
