Why is this vaccination syringe suitable for mass immunisation?

SoloShot™ Mini Syringes are vaccination syringes used in mass vaccination campaigns conducted by WHO, UNICEF, the International Committee of the Red Cross and Doctors Without Borders.²

The auto-disable feature makes it a suitable vaccination syringe candidate for large-scale and routine immunisation programmes, as it prevents the reuse of the syringe, which can be a cause of bloodborne pathogen transmission.³

Passive Auto-Disable technology:

The plunger rod automatically locks after injection, preventing the syringe from being reused

 

Low dead-volume:

The syringe is designed to minimise vaccine waste

 

Smooth plunger rod movement:

This syringe part is designed so that injections can be easily administered by vaccinators

High-quality permanently attached needle:

Syringes with attached needle allow for a greater number of doses per vial compared to syringes with detachable needle4
